Lee Da-young, who lost her place in Korea and left overseas due to the ‘school violence’ controversy, made an official appearance two years after the big controversy and expressed her position.
Lee Da-young, who recently signed a contract with Bolero Le Canet in the French league and visited her new nest, had an interview with reporters before leaving for France through Incheon International Airport on the 5th. This was the first time Lee Da-young had time for an interview in a public place after leaving the V-League as if running away from a controversy over school violence in 2021.
Twin sisters Lee Da-young and Lee Jae-young stood at the center of the school violence controversy in 2021 when they were in Heungkuk Life Insurance Pink Spiders. Victim A, who claims to have been bullied at school by her twin sisters in middle school, exposed the fact to an online community. In particular, the volleyball world was in great shock as it included the fact that a weapon (knife) was used in the course of school violence.
Sisters Lee Da-young and Lee Jae-young acknowledged the fact of school violence during their school days, such as posting a handwritten apology through SNS, and expressed their apology to the victims. But it didn’t seem like the truth. Sister Lee Da-young and Lee Jae-young posted a handwritten apology and deleted it shortly after. She also said that some of the alleged school violence claims by the victims were not true, and that she would sue for defamation.
As the situation worsened, Heungkuk Life Insurance, to which sisters Lee Da-young and Lee Jae-young belonged at the time, imposed a disciplinary action on them of indefinite business suspension. And the Korea Volleyball Association (KVA) deprived the twin sisters of their national team qualifications. Sisters Lee Da-young and Lee Jae-young, who lost their place in Korea due to so-called school violence, eventually turned their eyes abroad and left the V-League after signing a contract with PAOK Thessaloniki in the Greek league.
Although she often had time for interviews with the media after being engulfed in suspicion of school violence in 2021, this was the first time Lee Da-young publicly faced reporters. Lee Da-young, who we met at Incheon Airport on the 5th, said, “I want to say sorry to the fans and volleyball fans who love and care for me a lot. I can’t play volleyball because of a mistake. There are many things that have nothing to do with Lee Jae-young, and I wasn’t even there.”
On this day, Lee Da-young said, “I will interview all the things you are curious about,” and revealed her position on numerous suspicions, including her abusive behavior. The contents revealed by Lee Da-young are largely classified into three categories. First of all, I want to apologize to those who have been harmed by school violence. And Lee Jae-young has nothing to do with the issue of school violence. Lastly, it was about the rumors of a feud with a certain player during her time at Heungkuk Life Insurance.
First of all, Lee Da-young has not yet been able to resolve the conflict with the victims of school violence. Regarding the allegation of school violence, he said, “I got along well with all my friends when I was in my second year of middle school, but it was an incident that happened when I got into a fight with a friend, cursed at each other, and even fought with my body, and my emotions intensified. At that time, the situation was over and it was solved. , The incident happened again,” he said, “I’m working hard then and now.”
Continuing, Lee Da-yeong said, “I’m trying to meet with those friends somehow, apologize, and ask for forgiveness, but until now, I’m avoiding meeting and I can’t contact them. This is the situation. And they are asking lawyers for 100 million won each, so things haven’t been sorted out yet.”
Lee Da-yeong is in the position that she will somehow apologize through the meeting. He said, “If 안전놀이터given another chance, I want to go to those friends and ask them for their sincere apology and forgiveness. I admit my mistakes,” he said. If you say that it was very difficult, I want to sincerely apologize.”
The second reason Lee Da-young agreed to the interview was Lee Jae-young. At the time, it was the position that the aggression had nothing to do with Lee Jae-young. Lee Da-young said, “Lee Jae-young has not been able to play volleyball so far because of the twins. I want to correct that part. In fact, (Lee) Jae-young was not present at the time. The school violence incident has nothing to do with Jae-young. It is my problem,
If Lee Jae-young wasn’t involved, why didn’t he explain at the time? Lee Da-young said, “I had a problem with Jae-young because of my problem, but everything was my fault and it was my fault.” He said, ‘Don’t use social media anymore’, so I closed my social media account and issued an apology.”
The third is the rumor of a disagreement with a colleague who ate a pot of rice at Heungkuk Life Insurance at the time. Lee Da-young said, “There was a lot of controversy over that issue, but it is as it is. Rather, I want to ask why the player did that, why he harassed and made it difficult at the time. Law thinks I did this (specific action) to that player, but he never hit me on the ball while I was at Heungkuk Life Insurance. Those things happened,” he said.
Finally, Lee Da-young added, “All I can say is that I’m so sorry for everything. If I get another chance, I want to ask for your sincere apology and forgiveness.”
Meanwhile, Lee Da-yeong played for Greece’s PAOK Thessaloniki and Romania’s Rapid Bucharest after her position in Korea narrowed, and recently signed a contract with France’s Bolero Le Canet. And on the 5th, he boarded a flight to France via Incheon International Airport for his next season.
